Domestic Abuse Children’s Practitioner
One part-time/One full-time role
Contract to June 2024 (with the possibility of the role being extended beyond this date)
Your role will be to work with children and young people and their families who are affected by Domestic Abuse to improve their safety, understand their experience, and overcome the trauma of experiencing domestic violence and abuse. This will include delivering support and group work interventions to children both online and face to face, and to deliver DA Parenting groupwork; as well as working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary partners, including Children Services, DA partner agencies and WM Police.
Full time 37 hours per week at £26,750.00 FTE Part time 22.5 hours per week at £26,750 pro rata
- You must have a minimum of 2 years experience of working directly with children and young people in a supporting role from a school, family support, or charity setting
- You must have a good understanding of Domestic Abuse and the impact on children and their families
- You must have access to a confidential space in your home for some online working and administration tasks
- You must be able to drive and have access to the use of a vehicle for work
- You should be motivated, resilient, and committed to meeting positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Please note this is not a counselling role.
